My fiance and I have been engaged for 3 years and finally getting ready to tie the knot. We have committed to a date, a location, an officiant, a photographer, a best man and maid of honor and of course...a honeymoon. It's really happening! Wedding planning can be stressful - to say the very (very) least. It can break the bank, break your promises and (hopefully it won't) break a few hearts. After our first year of being engaged and looking at all the thousands of wedding websites and resources out there, I never thought we'd actually be able to afford to get married - at least not without taking out a serious loan and going into debt for the rest of my life. But a little research, a little time and planning and you can have the wedding of your dreams - all for a fraction of the exorbitant costs everyone else is paying. This blog is meant to help ease some of that mental, emotional, physical and financial stress. With all the thousands of wedding websites and commercial advertisers out there, I thought I'd put together a blog based on my own experiences planning my wedding to help any and all of the brides-to-be out there who may be engaged for longer than 3 years, thinking her wedding day will just never come. Well, I’m here to tell you ladies, you can make it happen - in real life, on a realistic budget. The best resources I've found out there are - you guessed it - DIY! I am not a professional wedding coordinator, planner or even party goer so please I invite anyone and everyone to share your own experiences with me here. I hope this can become a really useful resource for brides everywhere. With a whirlwind of info out there and only 6 months to plan, let's get going because...We're Getting Married!About
